Research Interests
Primary Research Focus: My research centers on refining a Raman spectroscopy–based proxy for aragonite saturation state in biogenic carbonates, with an emphasis on coral skeletons. Through this work, I aim to elucidate the implications of ocean acidification on biomineralization processes, and to establish Raman spectroscopy as a direct paleoclimate proxy for reconstructing past ocean chemistry.
General Areas of Interest: Raman spectroscopy; Biomineralization; Chemical oceanography; Ocean acidification; Coral Geochemistry; Geochemistry; Geochronology
