AmorinaÌýis a PhD Candidate in environmental studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. A native of the Four Corners region of Southwest Colorado,ÌýAmorina’sÌýscholarly interests revolve aroundÌýwater issues and theÌýDolores River, a tributary of the Colorado River originating in the San Juan Mountains near her home.ÌýHer researchÌýis focused onÌýwater management to learn how prior appropriation water rights, changing populations, andÌýhowÌýchanging climate affect relationships among river stakeholders. She will be conducting primary and secondary research on the history of water management in the Dolores River region to better understand contemporary conflicts.Ìý
Amorina’sÌýlong-term goal is to return to her home community and be involved in efforts to sustain water resources for multipleÌýneeds, andÌýhelp prepare for increasingly arid conditions.Ìý
