Matthew Turetsky is a PhD student in the Department of History at Carnegie Mellon University. His main areas of interestÌýlie at theÌýintersection of environmental, Indigenous, and agricultural history in Latin America. His dissertation project investigates the commodification and globalization of quinoa and the role of Peruvian farmers, seed banks, and U.S.-Peru development initiatives in the twentieth century.
