The Masters of the Environment (MENV) Graduate Program delivers an unparalleled professional graduate experience in sustainability. We achieve this through an interdisciplinary curriculum that is responsive to the changing sustainability landscape, grounded in robust real-world projects that advance sustainability solutions for industry partners, and supported by a vibrant ecosystem of sustainability professionals. All of this is strengthened by ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder and the state of Colorado’s global leadership in sustainability and climate action.

World-Class Faculty and Instructors

We review our curriculum on a semester-by-semester basis to ensure that our students are ahead of trends and new developments so that they are well positioned to provide value in the public, private, and non profit sectors through meaningful sustainability careers. We stay on the forefront of sustainability by leveraging our extensive partnership network on the Front Range of Colorado and beyond, and by bringing faculty into the classroom that are practicing industry professionals with decades of experience to provide students with real-time insights into their work.

Real-World Professional Experience

Our Capstone Program is a key differentiator amongst our peers. Student teams partner with public, private, and non profit organizations to address sustainability and climate challenges. Over 12 months, students design and implement impactful solutions such as sustainability and resilience plans, toolkits and best practices for industry, policy recommendations, and others. The Capstone Project is completed during the MENV program, and is a consulting experience that allows students to develop and practice technical and leadership skills, while also expanding their professional networks. All of this sets them up to be competitive for a successful career in sustainability.

Technical and Professional Training Outside of the Classroom

As a professional graduate program that is focused on applied and experiential learning, we intentionally create a bridge between the classroom and the real world. Our students learn from sustainability professionals and academic experts, partner with organizations of all sizes through impactful projects, and build invaluable skills and networks that support their sustainability careers.
