Writing Coach

The Writing Coach'sÌý job to support transformational leadership development by providing meaningful opportunities to the PLC community.

The Writing Coach accomplishes this stated purpose by:

  • Provide writing instruction and guidance though 6-8 in-person contact hours per week
  • Design and deliver writing workshops in First Year lecture (2-3 per semester)
  • Stays on top of writing trends, knows different writing styles per discipline, knows proper citing formats
  • Knows and advises on types of writing assignments: memos, essays, persuasion, debate, other written expression.
  • Attends weekly Student Staff meetings, attends Academic Team meetings, may meet with Dr. JulieMarie Shepherd Macklin to plan curriculum, writing workshops, stay current on assignments and how to best support students in any given unit.

The Writing Coach must do their job because we need innovative and ethical leaders who are going to create meaningful change.Ìý
