Faculty/Staff Edition - Aug. 29, 2016
We’re at as exciting a moment as I’ve ever seen at the university. To all our new and returning students, faculty and staff, I welcome you to our campus and wish you a great start to the academic year.
A remote seat at the table
Setting our students up for success is a top priority for ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder, but how can we help students who leave campus before completing their degree? Is there a solution for those students who need to complete a seminar or smaller face-to-face course that’s not offered online? This past spring, OIT and Instructor Giorgio Corda completed a pilot of Kubi, a new approach to interactive conferencing.
Student-athlete health the focus of newly launched study
In what may be a first-ever exhaustive study of intercollegiate student-athletes, a team of ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder researchers will gauge not only fitness but also general well-being among participants. Funded by a grant from the Pac-12 Conference, ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder's Public Health Program, the Integrative Physiology Department, Sports Medicine, Psychology and Neuroscience and others will collaborate, examining such aspects as how quickly student-athletes acclimate to Boulder's altitude and how healthy their sleep patterns are, for example.

Discounted and no-fee productivity and academic-related software
Did you know that you can often get the productivity software you need at discounted prices or even no user fee? The campus site licensing webpage is your key to finding the best deals on campus for Microsoft Office applications and operating systems, Adobe products, and academic-related software like Mathematica, ArcGIS, SPSS, JMP or MATLAB.
¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉäPD seeks information on ROTC trailer theft
On Friday, Aug. 19, the University of Colorado Boulder’s Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) discovered that its storage trailer had been stolen out of an East Campus parking lot in the area of 3100 Marine St. Anyone with information regarding the possible identity of the suspect is asked to call the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Police Department at 303-492-6666.
