Michele Moses, associate dean for graduate studies in the School of Education, has been awarded the 2016 Hazel Barnes Prize, the most distinguished award a faculty member can receive from the university. She is also the first education faculty member to receive the award.

First-Year Seminar Program to offer freshmen a high-impact learning model
Registration begins Monday, Oct. 31, for 32 new faculty-led freshmen seminars that will be offered in the Spring Semester. These seminars are limited to only 19 students each. Check out the variety of topics you can focus on with classmates who share your interests and goals.

For the second straight year, Colorado reigned supreme at the Pac-12 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, sweeping the team titles Friday morning in Tucson, Arizona.

The success and the science of the student-built MinXSS Solar CubeSat
On Nov. 2, LASP research scientist and recent ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Aerospace Engineering Sciences PhD graduate James Mason will speak on the early results from LASP's latest CubeSat project, MinXSS, which focuses on the energetic processes that occur in the sun's atmosphere.
Forever Buffs Spotlight event to feature Alan Stern (PhDAstro '89)
Join the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Alumni Association as we highlight the incredible accomplishments of Alan Stern, who received his PhD in astrophysics at in 1989. Stern is the principal investigator for the New Horizons mission and one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People" for 2016.

Award-winning actress, writer and stand-up comedian Maysoon Zayid will speak at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder onÌýTuesday, Nov.Ìý1, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event, hostedÌýbyÌýthe Cultural Events Board, is free and open to the public.
Buffs stun No. 9 UCLA
No. 22 Colorado knocked off its second consecutive top-10 opponent, defeating No. 9 UCLA 1-0 on Thursday afternoon at Prentup Field. The Buffs were coming off a 3-2 double-overtime victory at No. 10 California on Sunday. The Buffs will host No. 4 Southern California Sunday at noon.
