Access for all: Coffee shop conundrum
When you don’t add captions to your video, you make it difficult not just for the student trying to watch your video in a busy coffee shop, but also for someone in a quiet space such as a library, someone with a hearing loss or someone who struggles with understanding a speaker’s dialect. The reasons for captioning content are many and the resources for doing so are plentiful, too. Learn more about ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder’s captioning guidelines and resources.

New Assistant Vice Chancellor for Safety position creates career opportunity for ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder employees
The Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Safety is responsible for broad oversight, planning, organization and coordination of all campus safety functions for ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder. These responsibilities include campus police, environmental, health and safety, oversight of crisis management and coordination of campus-wide response teams in the event of an emergency. Current, regular ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder employee are welcomed to submit application materials through Monday, Oct. 3.
Fall 'Heads Up Boulder' safety campaign kicks off Sept. 26
Beginning on Monday, Sept. 26, police from the City of Boulder and the University of Colorado Boulder will step up enforcement of the city’s traffic laws in and around several of Boulder’s top locations for motor vehicle collisions involving a bicyclist or pedestrian as part of the Heads Up Boulder crosswalk safety campaign.

A program next spring in Washington D.C. for students to learn about the federal budget process, Congress and effective science communication will be the center of a panel discussion on campus Wednesday, Sept. 28.
'I Wish to Say' by performance artist Sheryl Oring
America’s self-proclaimed personal secretary, Sheryl Oring, will be at the Trumbo Fountain from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, with her vintage typewriter to take down people's messages to the president. The performance art is in support of the opening of "44 Plays for 44 Presidents," running through Oct. 2.
