Biochemistry Undergraduate Student Assistant I

The Caruthers Lab in the Biochemistry department is looking for a Student Assistant I- Entry/Semi-Skilled to work 20 hoursÌýper week or 40 hours per bi-weekly period.

Lab duties include: The Student Assistant will assist Research Associates who specialize in organic chemistry, most specifically, oligonucleotide synthesis including the preparation for biochemical/biological testing. Other duties may include:Ìý Supporting scientists with essential lab tasks such as preparation, labeling, equipment cleaning, inventory management, data entry, and general lab upkeep always under supervision and adhering to strict safety rules. Experience working in a biochemistry research lab is preferred.

Minimum qualifications: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry.

Start date 02/01/2026 and expected to continue through the 2026 fall semester.

Biochemistry Events & Administrative Student Assistant Position

The Biochemistry Department seeks to hire an undergraduate Biochemistry major student assistant.

Student Assistant Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist with undergraduate events, catering, set-up/clean-up, commencement, end of year celebration, surplus and inventory, website and Instagram maintenance. Assist with lab tours including professor and graduate student introductions. This is a great opportunity to learn about the Biochemistry department's community.

Qualified candidates will have excellent communications skills, strong independent work ethic, detail oriented, and willing to help in a variety of situations. Candidates must be able to lift and set up tables.

Work schedule: Approximately 10-15 hours per week. A consistent work schedule will be established based on available hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. customized to fit your academic schedule. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Start Date: Spring 2026, expected to continue for multiple semesters. Hourly pay of $20.00

Responsibilities will include to provide in-person, one-on-one sessions, help student improve their knowledge of the course material, provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment, maintain consistent communication with the student, and maintain consistent communication with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3.0 GPA, Minimum of a B in the tutoring course. Full time ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder student who is at least a sophomore, passionate about course content and has the desire to share with other students, desire to teach/share study skills for students’ own success. Work with limited supervision.

Start Date: Spring 2026, expected to continue for multiple semesters. Hourly pay of $20.00.
