History
Established in 1993, the Ted Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism moved to the University of Colorado Boulder in 1997. The program is named after the late Edward (Ted) Scripps, grandson of the founder of the Scripps Howard Foundation and a journalist who cared deeply about the environment.
The fellowship program is made possible by a grant from Cindy Scripps, Ted’s daughter, through the Scripps Howard Foundation. The program is organized and administered by the Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder, with guidance from an advisory board.
