Value of Research

Protect Colorado families. Protect university research.

To win the future for families, workers and businesses, Coloradans need university research.

Colorado’s economy has grown 78.6% since 2011 and ranks eighth nationally. And thanks in part to research done at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder, our strong local economy is still growing. ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder research activities contributed $1.4 billion to the Colorado economy in 2023-2024—a return on the investment in university research of nearly 90%.

¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder has already lost more than $30 million in critical research funding, leading to layoffs and cancelled projects that directly impact the health and well-being of Coloradans.

University research in Colorado powers jobs and our economy. You can help protect it.

"Federal funding pays for approximately 70% of ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder’s research each year. ... ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder uses this money to fund research that advances fields like artificial intelligence, space exploration and planetary sciences, quantum technologies, biosciences and climate and energy." — Massimo Ruzzene, senior vice chancellor for research and innovation at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder, in The Conversation.
