¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Science Discovery hires undergraduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) to work alongside instructors in the classroom and provideÌýoverall support to K-12 summer camps and high school classes and a variety of other programs throughout the academic year. The week prior to the start of summer,ÌýTAs will participate in aÌýrequired training program thatÌýpreparesÌýthem to be effective in a summer camp setting. Typically, summer programs take place in classrooms, laboratories and field sites throughout the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder campus and field sites and at the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Anschutz Medical campus.Ìý

Summer Format:

K-8 summer camps and high school classes run from June 1-July 31, 2026 (8 weeks) on the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder campus. All summer programs are either half-day (9am-12pm or 1-4pm) or full-day (9am–4pm).

The summer Teaching Assistant (TA) works directly with K-12 students to support the delivery of engaging, hands-on STEM programming during summer day camps. Under the guidance of lead STEM instructors, TAs assist with facilitation, classroom management, and student support to help create a safe, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment.

TAs are expected to bring enthusiasm for STEM and foster curiosity, collaboration, and active participation among students. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about STEM education, youth development, and gaining experience in informal teaching settings.

Prior experience working with K-12 students is required. While many TAs are undergraduate students in STEM fields, this is not a requirement.

Position-specific Details:

This position offers both full-time (40hrs/week) and part-time (25 hrs/week) employment throughout the summer.

If hired, all Teaching Assistants (new and returning) must make every effort to be available between June 1-July 31, 2026, for the days/hours they commit to. If you already know you will be unavailable during any part of the summer, please indicate that on the application form.Ìý

All Teaching Assistants are required to complete theÌýMANDATORYÌý(paid) training week fromÌýTuesday, May 26 - Friday, May 29, 2026.

Temporary teaching assistant appointments are eligible for accrued sick time. Sick time is earned on a prorated basis and is calculated at 24 hours of accrued sick time per academic term for full time (100%) appointments or a combination of appointments during the same term of employment. A combination of appointments of 50% or above for a semester are eligible forÌý.
