Get Started

Congratulations on taking the first step in this journey! Education Abroad is a unique opportunity to engage more deeply in your educational journey, expand your horizons, gain real-world experience, boost your resume, and more.Ìý

We also know this decision isn't made lightly and that it can feel overwhelming when standing at the beginning. We're here to help! Below are your first steps in beginning this process. Once you're accepted into your program, you'll get more info about what to do from there.

  1. STEP 1

Abroad 101 is your first advising session and covers program options, academics, costs, financial aid, and more.Ìý to access your advising record, thenÌýclick "Abroad 101 Online."

  2. STEP 2

    Explore Programs

Learn more about your program options and get tips on how to narrow this list of programs down to the ones that are best for you.Ìý

  3. STEP 3

    Connect with an Advisor

Talk to an Ed Abroad advisor to get the inside scoop on programs that best match your personal, academic, and financial needs, andÌýto start an application!

  4. STEP 4

    Check your Passport

With the exception of ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä in D.C., you're going to need a passport! While having a valid passport isn't required to apply for Ed Abroad, if you need to apply for a new passport, now is a good time to start that process.

  5. STEP 5

    Apply by the Deadline

Once an Ed Abroad Advisor has opened the application for you, make sure you submit it by the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder deadline (and the sooner you apply, the better)!

Education Abroad placesÌýa high priority on serving a diverse student body. We welcome applications from members of various groups which have traditionally been under-represented in education abroad, including first generation college students, LGBTQÌýstudents, student athletes, students with disabilities, students of color, and older students who have followed non-traditional paths to higher education.
